Challenge Director - Transforming Construction, UK Research and Innovation

Sam Stacey is a construction industry leader and writer on construction innovation. Since 2018 he has been Challenge Director for Construction at UKRI, implementing the Sector Deal for Construction as part of the UK’s 2017 Industrial Strategy. He has an MBA from Henley Business School and degrees in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Philosophy from Imperial College and Cambridge University.
Sam chartered as a structural engineer while working at Buro Happold on the Faisaliyah Center in Riyadh. As Director of Innovation at Skanska UK he was known for promoting Flying Factories. In 2018 Sam joined UKRI as Challenge Director for Construction. The Transforming Construction Challenge, is accelerating construction’s shift towards value-based manufacturing and digital processes. With a budget of £170 million, matched by £250 million from industry, the Transforming Construction Challenge brings together contractors, supply chain, innovators, government, clients and the research community. Sam is a member of the Construction Innovation Hub Board, Active Building Centre Board, Urban Splash Future Lab Board, a Senior Advisor to the Construction Leadership Council and a former trustee of the Building Research Establishment.

His expertise is proven across multiple industries and geographies to drive growth, risk and cost outcomes.

With over 13 years of international experience in omnichannel marketing and 360-advertising within the beauty category, Nora has a vast experience managing brand, product, and retail launch campaigns with global reach.

Nora’s experience has been very diverse from blue chip heritage brands such as Unilever Pond’s and Dove to fast-paced high growth start-ups such as Veleza (now backed-up by Loreal’s Founder’s Factory). In her last role, Nora’s leadership in the U.K. market was fundamental in achieving mass brand awareness and business success for global Swedish beauty and wellness tech brand FOREO.

Currently Nora is a Global Marketing Director for Ciate London, Lottie London and Skin Proud.

Nora’s passion is to build and develop brands by delivering consumer experiences at every touchpoint that create tangible impact on the business and influence consumer behaviour.

As MD New Digital Business, he was in charge of strategic projects aimed at engaging the customer with innovative and relevant ancillary propositions. Roberto joined from Cathay Pacific where he served as Managing Director of Cathay Pacific Holidays in Hong Kong, leading its transition to a modern digitalised one-stop shop for the airline. Prior to that he was part of the start-up of Hostelbookers.com and he worked for Expedia as Business Development Director for their b2b division, based in Paris.

Adi Chhabra

CEO, The Badass Water Company

Adi Chhabra has established himself as a successful high-tech entrepreneur since completing his MBA from Lancaster University Management School. After graduating in 2011, he co-founded PollPlug, a digital platform providing polls, surveys, and quizzes to companies backed by advanced big data analytics. In just nine months of full-time operation, PollPlug attracted more than 370 clients, including FTSE 250 companies and Accenture’s French consultancy arm. He is now the founder of The Badass Water Company. Prior to this, Adi spent over eight years at Vodaphone and was formally the Head of Product Innovation.

Caroline Gorski

Group Director R2 Data Labs, Rolls-Royce

Caroline is the Group Director of R2 Data Labs at Rolls-Royce, where she is charged with developing the strategy and implementation of data innovation technologies and capabilities that lead to new insights, new solutions and new business models. One of the major projects that she has been leading is the Emergent Alliance, a data collaboration group for economic recovery. She previously worked at companies such as Digital Catapult, Telefonica and Forrester Research.

Ananth's current role is Head of Technology at the TUI Group where he is accountable for building a suite of products to deliver flight sourcing capabilities across the TUI Group. Prior to this role, he has held several roles within TUI and been involved in many digital transformation programmes to help make customers smile time after time. As a member of the leadership team, he is accountable for defining and implementing strategic decisions by working closely alongside the senior leadership teams within IT and business.

After 15 years working for both the UK's largest Insurer and also one of the most high profile insurance consultancies, she now leads a health insurance technology business with the goal of doing brilliant things for customers and for the industry.
